About Us

Sylvia and Sue have been serving the youth of New Jersey as educators for many years. Sylvia started her teaching career in Brooklyn, New York in 1969 and then moved out to New Jersey to continue teaching for 34 years until she retired in 2015. Sue started her teaching career 34 years ago north of St. Louis, Missouri with special needs students and spent many years teaching in some of the poorest neighborhoods. She moved back to New Jersey in 2007 and continued her teaching career. After many years in education, they decided to direct their passion in another direction of helping others. Their initial inspiration came from Sylvia's husband, Mark, who has spent the last few years working with and contributing to many charities during his retirement. He  worked for over 40 years as a financial analyst for multi-national companies . He now works part-time as an investment analyst for family and friends. His passion to help those less fortunate was inspired by his caring spirit, heart and devotion to give back some of the good fortune he earned during his life to those less fortunate.  In February of 2011, Sue lost her nephew, Jake, of 17 years to a tragic event and in September of 2012, Sylvia and Mark lost their son, Glenn, of 35 years. These life altering events changed their lives and inspired them to create the foundation in memory of Glenn and Jake. Glenn and Jake made a difference in their lives with their love for others and in return, Sylvia, Mark and Sue want to spread their love to others in need.
